The South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) recently awarded a $10,000 South Dakota Fund grant to Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services, Inc (LCBHS). Funding will assist in the installation of a state-of-the-art staff and patient safety system that will enhance clinician emergency response and patient monitoring, ensuring a safe 24/7 crisis care environment.
"Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services is deeply grateful to the South Dakota Community Foundation for their generous support. With their help, we are cultivating a safer, more responsive environment for our most vulnerable community members,” said Holly Steffen, LCBHS Program Development Specialist. “This grant reinforces our commitment to providing trauma-informed, secure care for individuals in crisis. With this investment, LCBHS will enhance safety for both patients and clinicians, ensuring that anyone who walks through our doors receives immediate, compassionate support in a healing environment.”
LCBHS works each day to fulfill their mission of pioneering and sustaining comprehensive, integrated mental health and substance use treatment services that promote the health and quality of life of their community members. With the installation of the new safety system, LCBHS will provide discrete emergency response capabilities for clinicians, automated safety monitoring for patients, and effective de-escalation support, creating a secure, trauma-informed healing environment.
"We are proud to partner with Lewis & Clark Behavioral Health Services," says Ginger Niemann, SDCF Senior Program Officer. “LCBHS has a long-standing history of providing compassionate and comprehensive behavioral health services.”
