The South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) recently awarded a $30,000 South Dakota Fund grant to Northeast South Dakota Community Action Program (NESDCAP). Funding will assist with expanding the Financial Literacy Program by enhancing education, increasing awareness, and providing essential tools and resources for continued learning.

"This grant will allow Northeast South Dakota Community Action Program dba GROW South Dakota to expand access to financial literacy resources for individuals, families, and entrepreneurs across South Dakota,” said Kristin Hofland, GROW South Dakota’s Funds Development Officer. “By providing education and tools to manage finances effectively, we aim to empower participants to achieve greater stability and long-term success.”

Established in 1964, NESDCAP works by serving people’s housing, business, and community needs through opportunities and development. NESDCAP does this through a variety of programs and services that build an individual’s financial wealth. These programs and services, coupled with the Financial Literacy Program, are even more impactful. The Financial Literacy Program is designed to provide accessible, engaging, and impactful education for individuals across South Dakota.

"We are proud to support Northeast South Dakota Community Action Program in the expansion of their Financial Literacy Program," says Ginger Niemann, SDCF Senior Program Officer. “This program has proven to benefit numerous people across the state.”
