South Dakota Community Foundation Awards $9,925 to Hoven Preschool Program

The South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) recently awarded a $9,925 South Dakota Fund grant to Hoven Preschool Program. Funding will assist the preschool in updating their kitchen facility to allow a lower counter area for the children.

"We are beyond grateful for grant opportunities like this that help get non-profit organizations like ours the things we need to be as successful as possible," stated Joni Abler, Hoven Preschool Program Board President.

The Hoven Preschool Program was founded to help solve the daycare shortage in their community. Working with the school, the preschool program children are provided access to school services such as lunch program, physical education, school library, and music. This partnership allows for a smooth transition to kindergarten. 

"The Hoven Preschool Program has risen to the challenge to meet the needs of the Hoven community, especially at a time when so many South Dakota families are struggling to find daycare for their children," says Ginger Niemann, SDCF Senior Program Officer. “We are proud to partner with Hoven Preschool Program to assist with the remodeling of the kitchen to be more functional for the workers and children.”
