Today & Forever, Forward Together

Support the Spearfish CSA Impacting Tomorrow Together

Help Spearfish thrive for years to come.

In 1998, a group of committed leaders partnered with the city of Spearfish to create a long-term asset for the benefit of Spearfish nonprofit groups and organizations.

Your gift to the Spearfish Community Foundation will benefit LOCAL nonprofit programs promoting the social and economic well-being of the people living in the Spearfish area.

The Spearfish Community Foundation has distributed over $500,000 to nonprofit groups and organizations since 1997. As the Spearfish Community Foundation funds grow, so will the amount available each year for nonprofit projects and programs.

Spearfish Community Foundation launched the Impacting Tomorrow Together campaign in December 2021. Funds raised through Impacting Tomorrow Together will leverage collective resources to fund “charitable-purpose” projects/programs that make a large community impact and address community needs. Grants to 501(C)3 nonprofit and charitable organizations for these community betterment projects/programs will focus on, but not be limited to:

  • Health & Human Services
  • Senior Citizens
  • Recreation
  • Community Beautification
  • Arts & Culture
  • Public Safety

The City of Spearfish is also collaborating with the Spearfish Community Foundation to raise funds for the Impacting Tomorrow Together campaign. Starting January 2022, the City of Spearfish offers residents a unique opportunity to donate to the Spearfish Community Foundation through their monthly utility bill. Tax deductible monthly donations or a one-time gift will benefit local non-profit programs/projects that promote the social and economic well-being of the people living the Spearfish area. Residents may sign up for this convenient monthly or a one-time donation process through the city’s utility bill by completely the form on the City of Spearfish’s website www.cityofspearfish.com .

If you prefer to donate directly to the Spearfish Community Foundation through this website, please click the above Donate Now tab. Thank you for your legacy building contribution that not only impacts the Spearfish community today, but in the future and for future generations.

The State of South Dakota received a settlement from Phoenix-based Banner Health for its 2002 sale of seven hospitals and nursing homes. Banner Health made cash payment to the State that was imediately endowed at the South Dakota Community Foundation for health and elderly care in the communities in which Banner Health served. Each year, the Spearfish Community Foundation board of directors has the ability to recommend grants from this fund.
