Ron & Jean Jennings Scholarship
To provide financial support to graduates of Miller Area High School.
Scholarship Details
This scholarship honors Ron and Jean Jennings for their dedication to the Miller community. Ron moved to Miller at age three, graduated with honors from Miller High School and SDSU, and served in the National Guard. He joined his father’s cattle business, Hyland Angus Ranch, and was known for his humor, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit. A Life Master in Contract Bridge, he also enjoyed golf and hybridizing daylilies. Ron was deeply proud of Miller and never wanted to be far from it. Jean, originally from Fairfax, SD, became an elementary teacher and later the elementary music teacher at Miller Schools. She instilled high expectations in her students and helped them grow in confidence and skill. Together, Ron and Jean served their community in numerous capacities, believing Miller was the best place to raise children with strong morals. The Jennings family hopes this scholarship helps Miller area students pursue their educational dreams, continuing Ron and Jean’s legacy of service and support.
