Read-Veflin American Legion Post 180 Scholarship
To provide financial support to high school graduates with first preference to students who are residents of the original New Effington, SD school district.
Scholarship Details
Eligibility:
Students living in the current Rosholt or Sisseton school districts, who attend Rosholt or Sisseton High School (Note: students residing in the original New Effington school district who attend North Dakota or Minnesota schools ARE eligible to apply; however, applicants must be South Dakota residents.)
Preference points for the scholarship will be given to applicants who reside within the original New Effington, SD school district, regardless of the current school they attend

Additional preference points given to applicants for each of the following:
1. Parents or grandparents who are veterans
2. Attendance at Boys or Girls State
3. Participation in the American Legion's Oratorical contest
Attending any college, university, or technical college
