The South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) recently awarded a $4,000 South Dakota Fund grant to Fifth Circuit CASA Program. Funding will be used to assist with program materials.
"The grant will assist us with the start-up office equipment and infrastructure that we’ve needed to support the launching of the CASA Program in the Fifth Judicial Circuit," said Gloria Hutson, Executive Director. “Thanks to the South Dakota Community Foundation and other partners we are able to be the voice of the child in the court room in abuse and neglect cases. Thank you for helping us to help others!”
The Fifth Circuit CASA program has been working to expand their volunteer advocacy services in the ten counties that represent the Fifth Judicial Circuit since late 2024. Volunteers seek to promote and protect the best interest of the children by providing skilled, dedicated, and compassionate advocacy efforts. Program materials will assist the Fifth Circuit CASA program with the recruitment and training of these volunteers.
“We are pleased to assist with program materials for the Fifth Circuit CASA program” says Ginger Niemann, SDCF Senior Program Officer. “Having an advocate for children in the judicial system to offer support ensures they are taken seriously and that their rights are respected.”
