$10,000 Awarded to Bethany Christian Services

December 18, 2023 // Grants, South Dakota Fund Grants

South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) recently awarded a $10,000 South Dakota Fund grant to the Bethany Christian Services. Funding will support their ReNew Program (Recovering Mothers with Newborns) as new mothers struggle to overcome addiction.

“ReNew is rooted in the belief that women with a history of substance use can recover. The ReNew team walks with expectant mothers—supporting her in recovery, sharing parenting practices to help with attachment and bonding, and connecting her with community resources. Women and children will have the ability to thrive together, developing life-changing, sustainable behaviors,” says Sarah Caldararo, Executive Branch Director, Bethany Christian Services of South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska.

“This program is offering support to women who need a safe place to heal,” says Ginger Niemann, SDCF Senior Program Officer. “We are happy to partner with them in creating a community where hope and healing thrive."
