Founded in 2026 Giving Back to Woonsocket

Woonsocket Community Foundation was established in 2026 with a vision of creating lasting impact for the Woonsocket community for generations to come. Seeded by a founding gift from the Woonsocket Development Corporation, the foundation was created to support charitable projects, community initiatives and opportunities that strengthen and enhance the quality of life in Woonsocket and the surrounding area.

As a newly established organization, the foundation believes even small communities can create meaningful, lasting change when people come together with a shared purpose. Through charitable giving, community partnerships, and local leadership, the foundation aims to invest in projects that make Woonsocket a stronger place to live, work and raise a family.

The foundation’s advisory committee is also proudly participating in SDCF's Challenge Grant program. Through this opportunity, the committee is working to raise $200,000 in local support, which will unlock an additional $50,000 matching grant from South Dakota Community Foundation. 

While the foundation is still in its early stages, its mission is rooted in long-term impact, community pride and the belief that the future of Woonsocket is worth investing in. Every contribution helps build a legacy of generosity that will continue serving the community for years to come.
