Founded in 2024 Giving Back to Selby
Selby Community Foundation was established by a local advisory council in partnership with South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF). Their goal is to create a long-term funding source for charitable causes in the local area. With careful investment, the fund will continue to thrive and enhance quality of life in the local area creating a lasting legacy. This fund is one of 90 community savings accounts in partnership with SDCF.
Selby Community Foundation Advisory Council has accepted a challenge to raise $100,000 within three years for a match of $150,000 from the Oscar M. and Edna A. Himrich Family Fund and South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF).
Ruby (Himrich) Humphrey of Pierre, S.D. is offering the match in memory of her parents. “I’ve been looking for some time to find a way to help the Selby community. My parents grew up, lived and worked in Selby all their lives and I wanted to honor them in a lasting way.”
