Finalist: Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation as a fiscal sponsor for Promising Futures Fund

Promising Futures Fund, through its fiscal sponsor Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, has worked with the Sioux Falls School District to help reduce inequity in children from low-income families experience in education. Not looking to eradicate poverty, but working to make sure that each child in the District has access to a great education and a promising future, Promising Futures Fund works directly with school principals and staff from what can be described as the “forgotten schools”, along with leadership from the District, Promising Futures Fund assists with and funds any program that may help a child in poverty receive a better education, increase their experience, and provide opportunities in academics, athletics, fine arts, and exposure to college, technical school, and other career avenues. Today, Promising Futures Fund works with 13 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, 1 alternative school, and 1 high school in the Sioux Falls School District.
