Dakota Resources' mission statement is, "Connecting CAPITAL and CAPACITY to EMPOWER rural communities." Dakota Resources is for rural by rural, seeks sustainable economic development, and fosters local empowerment. Dakota Resources has helped energize rural communities across the state of South Dakota. As a re-lending partner with the USDA Rural Development CDFI Fund, Dakota Resources works closely with communities to identify and vet needs and projects, which has allowed them to focus investments in areas that otherwise might be considered too risky. Dakota Resources connects communities with resources already available and has been active in building a network of rural economic development leaders. Dakota Resources hosts inclusive and collaborative meetings, ensuring ideas are effectively discussed for shared learning.
