The South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) congratulates Face It TOGETHER (FIT) on their recent $20,000 South Dakota Fund grant award. Funds will be used to employ a marketing campaign across the state.

“We are so grateful to partner with the South Dakota Community Foundation to spread awareness of the free peer coaching opportunities for those struggling with addiction”, said Wendy White, CEO, Face It TOGETHER. “By raising awareness for grant opportunities for free coaching, individuals and families across the state will be able to gain access to data-driven peer coaching and begin their journey towards wellness.”

Located in Sioux Falls, Face It TOGETHER (FIT) provides professional peer coaching to those impacted by addiction, including loved ones. Their unique model pairs members with coaches who have similar lived experiences and provides, safe, nonjudgmental spaces for peer coaching. Since the beginning of the pandemic, FIT developed, studied and improved the organization’s ability to provide virtual coaching allowing them to expand their reach.

“The pandemic has added stress to those facing addictions”, said Ginger Niemann, Senior Program Officer, SDCF. “Getting the word out about this free opportunity for help may alleviate some of that.”

In response to the pandemic, SDCF’s Board of Directors established the Coronavirus Response Fund to directly support the needs of communities and nonprofits affected by COVID-19. This fund addresses immediate needs including access to food, shortage of volunteers, healthcare sector support and human services sector support. Donations are being accepted.
