Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary are presented a check from Ginger Niemann, Program Officer of the South Dakota Community Foundation. This $10,000 grant is for Caminando Juntos, an outreach ministry program that assists the Latino population in the Sioux Falls area.

Charlie Thompson, board member of the South Dakota Community Foundation awards the Capital City Children's Chorus in Pierre a $5,000 grant to assist with costs incurred to perform at America's 400th Anniversary Weekend in Jamestown, Virginia.


United Retirement Center, Inc. staff and children are presented a check from SD Community Foundation board member Bob Jostad. This $20,000 matching grant will assist with the completion of a 16,000-square foot addition to its original structure.

SD Community Foundation board member Peg Seljeskog presents a $10,000 grant check to Pat Quyle, CEO of the Girl Scouts of the Black Hills to support the Girl's Circle program.


South Dakota Attorney General Larry Long presents a check to community leaders in Eureka establshing the Eureka Banner Settlement Fund. The proceeds from this permanent fund at the South Dakota Community Foundation will be used to support health care and senior care projects in Eureka.


Children's Care in Rapid City has been awarded a $10,000 grant to assist with building a new facility. This new facility at Children's Care will be complete with a gymnasium for physical therapy, separate areas for orthotic and prosthetic evaluation, a family resource center, and a lending library for adapted equipment. Children's Care is one of South Dakota's most widely recognized nonprofit organizations. They serve over 1,400 children from their Rapid City location.


SDCF Board Member Noel Hamiel of Mitchell presents a $20,000 grant check to the leadership of the Mitchell Area Development Corporation.


Huron Mayor Mary Pearson and other Huron community leaders accept the Philanthropic Community of the Year from the South Dakota Association of Fundraising Professionals. Huron was nominated by the South Dakota Community Foundation for their strong philanthropic efforts in many areas.

Standing in front of the TRACES Bus, Center for History and Culture are South Dakota Community Foundation board member Pat Adam along with TRACES Executive Director, Michael Luick-Thrams. This Bus-eum is a mobile exhibit that increases awareness of WWII internment in the U.S. The South Dakota State Historical Society hosted the TRACES Bus at the Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre.


Earl Nordby, board member of the South Dakota Community Foundation along with Ginger Niemann, present a grant check to Jim Borszich, Executive Director of the Greater Huron Development Corporation for their economic development efforts.


Ginger Niemann presents a grant check to Cheryl Hanna with Access to Justice and Tom Barnett with the South Dakota State Bar Association for the Access to Justice Program. The pro bono program will utilize the services of volunteer lawyers to help South Dakotans who lack financial resources to hire a lawyer for their legal problems.
