Grant applicants will receive notice by
September 15, 2009 on the final status of
their application.
The South Dakota Nonprofit Enhancement
Project will also provide grants to
individual nonprofit organizations for
capacity building activities. The grant
application and guidelines can be downloaded
from the links below.
Applications for the first grant cycle will
be accepted by mail beginning May 1 until
August 15 of 2009. Grant decisions will be made
by September 15th and all applicants will be
notified of the decisions shortly
thereafter.
The grants will range in size from $2,000 to
$12,500, and will be part of a competitive
application process. Approximately 40 grants
will be awarded in 2009, with an additional
40-50 to be awarded in the second grant
cycle in 2010.
The grants must be used for organizational
capacity building needs, including but not
limited to: developing a strategic plan,
program evaluation, communications, board
development, grant writing assistance,
management transition, financial management
review, and fund development. Grants are
only available to 501 (c) (3) organizations.
